To be, or not to be!

I did sign up with great enthusiasm for a blogging challenge. But, sadly this is my 2nd post for the same, while my other blogger friends are way ahead of me – posting promptly, reading, and sharing interesting posts!

to be or not to be

Not to be…

I have realized that blogging is time-consuming and exhausting. Especially, when you are working full time as well as juggling too many things at one go!

I had planned to complete my pending posts, reviews, etc.,. in this one week of vacation but household chores seem to beckon me from all directions. This morning, as I just sat down to type away my pending posts, my son comes calling and asks me to play with him for some time. He also requests me to bake a cake for him. When I replied that I shall be with him in precisely 30mins, he cringed and went away murmuring something. Now as a mother, I started feeling guilty of neglecting my child and closed everything and went to him seeking to re-emphasize ‘Mother’s Love’.This scene has been played out umpteen times in the last 6 months since I started blogging, sometimes making me ponder over stopping blogging altogether.

to be or not to be

To be…..

But then, I have worked hard on implementing ideas by generating content on my blog slowly and sincerely. I have made some wonderful contacts and rapport with authors and publishers who have wholeheartedly appreciated my honest reviews of their books. I have been reading some very interesting articles as part of a wonderful community of bloggers. I love reading books, interacting with people, widening my horizon, traveling and chronicling the experiences, and pouring it all on my blog and I treat my blog as a baby. So how can I abandon this newly born?

With these skeptical thoughts of ‘to be or not to be’ a blogger, I end this journal for today. This, as the promise of a ‘homemade cake,’ beckons me!. Do leave your thoughts on this post and share with me similar experiences of yours. I hope to find solace in the thought that I am indeed not neglecting my family in this pursuit of blogging my ideas and experiences. Ciao…

O.K …as I am wrapping up this post, my son is here with a change of mind. He wants a ‘trifle pudding’ with cake and lots of custard. Phew!

  3. Hi Meenakshi. Life is a constant tug of war between, responsibilities and passions, isn’t it?:)
I hope you baked that cake, after all your son won’t be this exact age anymore, na:)
You could write a post about how you went about baking it and his reaction when he ate it:)

  4. Love your write ups 🙂
And even I am nor able to cover up all the posts :p Its okay to play with heart than to post anything

  5. I guess we all sail in the same boat especially with kids and work..it is not easy but we can do it as we have special powers as women. We can multitask easily ..more power to u and your blog..good to know u through this campaign 🙂

  6. Keep writing Polka Junction. It’s a beautiful and personal post. Signing for such challenges is never easy and I’d say dedicate a whole day spinning a couple of posts. Take your time for I know it’s a humongous challenge.

  7. It is perfectly okay to write when you feel like, Meenakshi! I would say, develop a schedule of your own. Like blog on Tuesdays and Sunday or the like. Stick to it, read other blogs on any of the other days and you can easily be a great blogger! Fret not 🙂

  8. Hey 🙂
    Firstly a “Hi” from the #AwkwardEarthling.. 🙂
I had a lil of free time and wanted to read someone new; get to someone new.. And thus stumbled upon your page 🙂
Pretty cool blog name and loved your apt description of the same..
And the post; I just felt as though this was me writing. I have been a blogger (technically) for about two years now and I regret to tell you that I have only about 20 plus posts.. I write rarely when I feel and challenges are too much for me. My first challenge was #MyFriendAlexa and it was 8 posts per month. Even that was exhausting. And when I see the whole world of writers posting and posting; i do doubt if I have it in me.
But blogging is not just about writing. Its about reading; learning; and what not 🙂
So let me assure you there are a lot of people like us 🙂
And lets blog to a better tomorrow 🙂

P.S : Looks like I have written an essay here. Just wanted to make my point clear.

    See you around 🙂
