Self

I am Meenakshi and the blogger behind ‘Polkajunction’. I would like to call it ‘A Travel and Lifestyle Blog’. As the tagline conveys, this blog is a potpourri of Travel Tales, Travel tips and ideas on family destinations, Vegetarian food, Reviews, Random Musings, Education based articles and many more things amidst hot cups of filter coffee! So, make yourself cozy as I become a little noisy.

A little about me

I am a Teacher by Profession and a Blogger by Passion. I worked as a Junior Lecturer and Senior Teacher until May 2017. And, no, I have not quit my job to go backpacking or travel! I have taken a sabbatical to take care of my son.

I started my blog ‘Polkajunction’ in February 2016, to document the ‘reviews’ of the books I read, sitting amidst the mountains of Dhauladhars in Himachal. Coming from a Defence background and leading the life of a nomad, subsequently made me document the travel tales on the blog.

The history, architecture, and culture of a place fascinate me and I love talking about family destinations on Polkajunction.

Having studied and dabbled in various subjects ranging from Microbiology to IT to Literature, I found blogging, the perfect medium to talk, discuss and put forth my thoughts and experiences.

Polkajunction went self-hosted in January 2017.

Why Polkajunction?

My interests are as varied as polka dots and since this space brings together aspects closer to my heart, it has been named ‘Polkajunction’. Err…Well, actually, I love Polkadots!

What interests me?

Travelling, exploring new places, making new friends, getting to know a new culture and cuisine, delivering lectures, reading abound, DIY craft, baking, whipping out new dishes in my lab (kitchen) and playing with my son keeps me sane!

Brands I have worked with

TATA Motors, Cochlear,  O.P. Jindal Global University, IGP.com, BergerXP Paints and Colgate, to name a few.
